Symptômes:

L'hémophilie A (chien de berger allemand, type 2) est un trouble hémorragique héréditaire et est causée par une déficience en facteur de coagulation VIII, une protéine essentielle à la coagulation sanguine normale. 

Puisque que la mutation est liée au chromosome X, ceci signifie qu'une femelle doit avoir les 2 copies du gène muté pour développer la maladie. Tandis qu'une seule copie chez le mâle, transmis par la mère, suffit à développer la maladie. Chaque chiot mâle né d'une femelle porteuse de la mutation a 50 % de chances d'avoir de la maladie.
